John Tavener\u2019s iconic \u2018The Lamb\u2019 is similarly meditative, alongside the lonely Finnish landscapes of \u2018Mieli\u2019 by Liisa Matveinen, and the impressionistic colours of Charles Stanford\u2019s \u2018The Blue Bird\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is also great joy, from the raucous Canadian springtime (Stephen Chatman\u2019s \u2018Due north\u2019) and the playgrounds of the Basque Country (\u2018Txoriak\u2019), to the summer streams of \u2018Le Bayl\u00e8re\u2019 and the incessant buzzing of the Real Groups\u2019 \u2018Bumblebee\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And throughout our journey we are accompanied by birdsong: the dancing sparrows of Sarah Quartel\u2019s hypnotic \u2018Songbird\u2019, the whistling of \u2018Blackbird\u2019 by the Beatles, and the song of hope in the darkness of wartime London and the American civil war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Join us for a journey through the springs and summers of the world!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With our spring programme for 2026, Melting Vox explores how musicians are inspired by the sights, sounds and experiences of the natural world.
